Hardware - Sony FE 70-200 2.8 GM OSS and A7R2. Stunning results and coming from the Nikon (almost) equivalents! Colours, bokeh, sharpness and I am just speechless at how this combo performs. I have enjoyed Sony cameras & lenses since coming from Canon. I am not happy with the quality. Anyone could agree that these lenses are priced very high... which is fine.... you get what you pay for. Thing is I've had this lens for around 3 years and it already took a dump. The motor went out. I baby my lenses & put them in manual when I'm done and go to any extreme to make sure they are taken care of so it was a total surprise to me that after only 3 years a high end lens motor would crash. On top of that it was a pretty penny to fix... $700 when in fact they first told me $400 at the highest. So yes I am not happy that when I do all I can to take care of my gear only to have it break down. I've had my L Canon lenses for over 10 years and not one problem so you make the choice.

this lens is very rarely off my camera and is my go to lens. In fact it is also my walk around lens, the ability to swop from portrait to landscape within this focal range is of primary importance to me and this lens delivers it all.

I bought this lens in July of this year but due to Covid and shipping I had to wait almost two months for it, but it was worth it! It is a bit heavy lens but quality of that lens and also of photos is great!

Si vienen de Canon y tuvieron un 70-200 2.8L, saben de qué hablo. Un zoom imprescindible para eventos, deportes, desfiles y espectáculos artísticos. Es pesado, pero con la A7III con grip queda balanceado. El anillo del soporte para trípode gira sedoso, fluído. Absolutamente silencioso y casi instantáneo para enfocar y con una nitidez, contraste y corrección de CA equiparable a fijos como un Sigma 85 1.4 Art. No duden en comprarlo. Ah, el estabilizador, funciona muy bien.

I bought the lens about a month ago and very pleased. Images are excellent as expected from the Sony GM range. The focusing motor is not as quiet as the 100-400 and 200-600, and you can hear and feel it move but works fine. One feature l find different to the other 2 zooms mentioned is that the MF ring is still active even if the lens is in AF, as if its in DMF but doesn't zoom in or activate the focus peaking, still haven't decided if this is a good feature or not as if you knock the MF ring after it has focussed can put if out of focus, but it maybe useful at times. Overall very happy.

Soy fotografo de eventos deportivos, y apasionado de la fotografía de naturaleza. Este objetivo cumple con todo lo que necesito. Enfoque super rápido con mi Alpha 9, y una nitidez excepcional, hacen que no se me escape la acción en el mejor momento. Si bien el peso es un poco elevado, el tamaño es mas reducido que en otras marcas con las que he trabajado. Bien construido, se ve robusto, silencioso, es todo lo que buscaba en un porducto de estas características. Muy satisfecho con su compra.
